I was at a point in my life when I couldn't determine what to do. I believed God wasn't working in my life, my identity was lost, I was insecure as a man, and I was fighting against my past and so many lies. I signed up for the CRUCIBLE because I had been told this would change my life. I was doubtful. I almost canceled as the date got closer because of insecurity and thinking I would somehow show up and fail. I went through with it and found myself in the middle of something unlike anything else I've ever experienced. I had never been more real and honest in my life. I hadn't felt so understood. They met us exactly where we were, whether bad or good. I found out who I truly was--good and bad. The amount of effort the coaches and Thomas Bills put into the experience was exceptional. They always remembered names and spoke exactly what we needed. Every single brother (because that's exactly what the other men beside me became) received exactly what they needed. We all came away with a true view of our potential and identity, a fiery passion for life. I wasn't putting on a persona now. I'm completely different. Others around me have seen the change. It was worth everything! This was the most transformative thing I've ever experienced, and I'll never forget it. I'm still in daily contact with my brothers.
